MGN Public School, Jalandhar, is being run by Montgomery Guru Nanak Educational Trust which was founded in 1922, at Montgomery (now in Pakistan), with the opening of a Primary School, under the patronage of Late S. Hukam Singh (Ex. Governor of Rajasthan, Ex-Speaker of Lok Sabha), Bhai Gobind Singh Pasricha and S. Gian Singh Rai. The Trust weathered many challenges and had to leave the school behind at the time of partition. Sardar Gian Singh Rai, another practicing lawyer and Sardar Gobind Singh Pasricha, a close associate of S Hukam Singh, joined Sardar Hukam Singh in the achievement of ideals and goals of his mission. Initially the school functioned from the premises of Gurudwara in Montgomery, and later moved to a rented house.
