About The Ramakrishna Vivekananda Vidyamandir

THE RAMAKRISHNA VIVEKANANDA VIDYAMANDIR, established in the year 1983 is a residential secondary school for boys. The institution is since then rendering its service with the objective of providing man-making and character-building, assimilation of ideas, bringing forth the nobler instinct in every individual boy.THE RAMAKRISHNA VIVEKANANDA VIDYAMANDIR founded by Sri Samarendra Nath Kar, a notable educationist, on the ideals of Swami Vivekananda, Gurugriha Vasa form of acquiring knowledge, is truly a right blend between the ancient Gurukul with the modern time. The appropriate environment is ensured in the widespread campus located at calm, pollution free, away from the city hassles on a lush green area, aids immensely in stimulating the minds of the pupils.

Shri Samarendra Nath Kar, Founder Director of the institution named The Ramakrishna Vivekananda Vidyamandir was born on 23rd July 1940 as the eldest son of Shri Narendra Nath Kar and Smt. Shantilata Kar. Shri Kar completed his early education from a government school and higher education of B.Sc. (Chemistry) from B.B. College, Asansol in the year 1965 with great hardships. After then he changed various jobs mostly in Colliery fields and finally in a reputed educational institution of Deoghar from where he was largely influenced with the divinity of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa, Maa Sarada, and their worthy disciple Sri Swami Vivekananda. The idea of establishing an educational institution in the line of imparting man-making institution was such that he gave up all hopes of acquiring new job to support his family and initiated all measures to begin an educational institution symbolizing the principles of his highly cherished spiritual leaders. The institution was founded on 18th January 1983 in a rented building named Tripura Kutir at Williams Town, Deoghar with only 10 students with unique facet of residential boys’ school. In year 1984 it was then shifted to Kunda near the famous Kundeshwari Temple with the total enrollment of students reaching above 100. The number of students was steadily increasing and thus forced Mr. Kar to look for a permanent solution to shifting of the institution and to give a real shape to his dreams. On long continued pursuit of permanent abode for the institution by the grace of time thereby arrived and the present campus of the institution came into being way back in the year 1988. The constant expedition of Shri Kar continued and the institution reached to fame with students reaching from various adjoining states majority from north and west Bihar. The institution edifying the great dreams of Shri Kar who left his mortal body in the dreadful day of 22nd December 1995 at the age of 55 due to major stroke is a story of an ordinary man rising to zenith with self-belief and strong determination as the two capitals for the institution, doing its best to the society and for the progress of the society by educating its masses. The institution right from its inception has strived to imbibe among students the basic values along with quality education for the overall personality development of a child. The institution spread in about 12 acres of land at a picturesque site thereby providing the institution with the environment congenial for teachers (gurus as termed in the ancient years) and the taught to attain their ultimate aim with healthy body and mind. Amidst the peace and tranquility of the surrounding it offers excellent facilities for ideal training of students aimed at holistic development of young individuals to be able to realize the noble man’s character. Instilling of such qualities shall help them to participate effectively and meaningfully in the progress of the society and nation in bigger aspect. The successfulness of the institution to impart education on this belief has resulted in gaining trust and admiration of the masses throughout these years.Recognised by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) in the year 1997 till class-X has from then consistently delivered outstanding performances in Board examinations and the present upgradation of the school in the year 2012 to senior secondary section has rightly identified the institutions underlying principle of serving the masses to the most.
