Q5) If -4 is a root of the quadratic equation x2 + px - 4 = 0 and the quadratic equation x2 + px + k = 0 has equal roots, find the value of k.  (Marks 2)

((x - 1)(x - 2)(x2 - x - 72))/((x - 9)(x2 + x - 2))  (Marks 2)

Q16) A shopkeeper buys a number of books for Rs. 80. If he had bought 4 more books for the same amount, each book would have cost him Rs. 1 less. How many books did he buy? (Marks 4)

Q17) A vessel, in the form of a hemispherical bowl, is ful of water. Its contents are emptied in a right circular cylinder. The internal radii of the bowl and the cylinder are 3.5 cm and 7 cm respectively. Find the height to which water will rise in the cylinder.  (Marks 4)
